Sleeve M; Vinyl M. Hot Buttered Soul is Isaac Hayes's genre-bending second album, originally released in 1969. With just four extended tracks, including a sweeping reinvention of "Walk On By" and the epic "By The Time I Get To Phoenix," it reshaped what soul music could be, mixing lush orchestration with deep groove and spoken-word intros.
