With The Cardinals fully integrated—including guitarist Neal Casal and bassist Chris Feinstein, both new to the line up—it embraces an ethos that Adams called “complete and utter collaboration”.  

Key tracks feature the country‑rock shimmer of “Goodnight Rose”, the tongue‑in‑cheek arena-rock romp “Halloweenhead”, and the intimate duet “Two” (featuring Sheryl Crow). Musically, the album bounces across alt‑country, rock, soft balladry, and folk, echoing Adams’ earlier work but with a cleaner, tighter focus.
