Sleeve M; Vinyl M. Return of Django is a seminal instrumental album by Lee “Scratch” Perry’s studio band The Upsetters, released in 1969 on the Trojan label. Widely revered as a reggae classic, the title track—named after the 1966 spaghetti-western film—featured Val Bennett on sax and became a UK hit, peaking at No. 5 following its release as a double A-side with “Dollar in the Teeth”. The LP comprises rocksteady and early reggae instrumentals like “Touch of Fire,” “Soulful I,” “Live Injection,” and “Man from M.I.5,” showcasing Perry’s eccentric production and cinematic flair. 

This pressing is a 180g white vinyl reissue, limited to 1000 copies worldwide (385/1000). It comes in a gatefold sleeve and is annotated by Perry biographer David Katz, offering a loving tribute to Perry’s vintage sound and legacy. An absolute classic!
